Community Service
Financial literacy
Financial literacy affects day-to-day money management and the ability to save for long-term goals such as buying a home, seeking higher education, or financing retirement. First Commercial Bank is committed to improving the level of financial literacy in its markets. That’s why you’ll find us in our communities educating young people on the importance of saving or teaching families the basics of home-buying.
BELOW ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF BOARDS WE’VE SERVED ON AND ORGANIZATIONS AND EVENTS WE HAVE SUPPORTED ANNUALLY:
- Board service for nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, and Forgotten Harvest
- American Bankers Association “Get Smart About Credit” program
- Money Smart Week
- “Banking On Our Future” with Operation Hope
- Tax foreclosure assistance
- Junior Achievement
- Opportunity Resource Center
- Whaley Children's Center
Volunteerism
At First Commercial Bank, we understand the importance of making our communities a better place to live, work, and do business. In fact, in 2015 our employees volunteered over 8,500 hours to their communities.
